About

Dear Readers,

You may ask, “What does “Nearly The Bionic Woman mean?” When people find out everything that I have gone through, they say I am the Bionic Woman. Of course, I have always replied “Well, not quite.” So it was born.
I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus as well as Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1991 when I was only 17. Since then, I have been in and out of hospitals and have had many surgeries, including a kidney transplant and a knee replacement.
After I had my kidney transplant, I would send emails to my family and friends to let them know how I was doing. Eventually that was boring and I discovered my first blog. It sounded fun and I had time off from my job so I gave it try and loved it. At first, I just wrote about myself and my medical issues. Again, that became boring. I began helping other people through my experiences to deal with their own questions after being diagnosed with SLE to doing research for any other medical issue a person may have a question about.
One of the biggest medical research projects that I have taken on is on Autism. Not only did I fall in love with these children but I also found out a lot more about myself and my health and the blog blossomed from there.
One thing that is very important for me to tell you is that I am not trained in the medical field. I am actually a flight attendant. With that said, I have a lot of experience with medical problems and I have a lot of time to research for those who may not. The information that I find can then be discussed with your qualified physician.
Sincerely yours,
Christina
