I flew with a flight attendant last night who has quite a few food allergies. making it hard for her to find much to eat. I flew with a passenger this morning who’s two year old has more recent food allergies that are the most common and has begun banging his head.
Do these two situations have anything in common and why are they there? Could this be something that was there all along and environmental stresses uncovered them? I do not know but it’s something I am very interested in finding out. Please check back to see what I discover and comment on what you know or would like to know.
I have been reading about food allergies in children and am having trouble finding out the why. I even just read that it can take time for the immune system to build up enough of a response to show symptoms. OK, fine. but, why?
One thing that I find particularly interesting is that on this same site, keepingkidshealthy.com, it shows foods that should not be introduced to your child until certain ages if they are at high risk for having food allergies. They state not to introduce wheat until at least one year.
Why do they recommend one year? Some of the biggest research that I have done lately regards gluten intolerance (wheat, barley, rye) and the ill effects it can cause. Gluten intolerance is a huge factor in many cases of auto immune diseases, asthma, autism, and the list goes on.
When I looked up why a person would be allergic to eggs, the common factor that I could find is the immunoglobulin e , which is the factor in wheat, fish and believe it or not, frogs! So, just as an FYI, if you are allergic to fish and shellfish, don’t eat frog either. The IgE, is the protein in the egg, wheat, etc. and even the infamous dust mite. A person with allergic reactions has more IgE factors that one that does not.
So what does this mean for the allergic person and where is the true remedy? Is there a way to prevent it all together that does not involve special diets? Is there a way to cure it once it’s already evolved?

Most allergies can be treated by corticosteroids and also some antihistamine blockers.*:-
to treat my allergies, i just take in some antihistamines like claritin.~,
